April 19, 2022 Pol. Col. Pornthawee Somwong, Superintendent Chokchai Police Station, was visited by WDT and a dog caretaker in Soi Ladprao 87 to report a case on animal abuse. A man who raised chicken in that area was reported on two cases; Animal Cruelty and Offence of Mischief. There was an eyewitness who confirmed that this man hit the white dog in the head and used a rope to tie the neck of a black dog to his own motorbike until both dogs were dead. The man claimed that the dogs bit his chicken. He was also reported of breaking a property fence and trespassing to land. His chicken shed was built on a property of other people while the chicken was free range raised wandering around the neighboring area. The owner left ‘PEPSI’ a Poodle dog at her grandmother’s house before going to run some errands. Later she was informed that her dog was hit on the head by a neighbor who lived opposite house. Pepsi was covered in blood and unconscious. The owner of Pepsi contacted WDT. She was advised to give a statement at the police station. The copy of police report can be used to claim for compensation on Offenses of Mischief but the family was afraid to report the crime. WDT contacted Pol. Col. Chalit Seehanu, Superintendent Phen Police Station for coordination to find justice for Pepsi. ‘BOK’ was severely hit by his owner until his eye popped out of socket and was unconscious. The owner said BOK was a savage dog. A complaint received by WDT from a citizen of Nong Jok village, Moo 4, Phanom Thuan District, Kanchanaburi Province. After hitting his dog the owner went fishing. The villager was afraid that when the owner came back he might hurt the dog again. WDT contacted Village Headman and his assistant to rescue the dog. WDT also coordinated with Pol. Col. March 21, 2022, WDT Rescue Team was informed that loud noises of cats and rotten smell came from a house number 74/3 in Pruksa Housing Compound, Srinakarin-Tepaluk road, Bang Muang Sub District, Muang District, Samut Prakan Province. WDT Rescue Team went to the location and found a two story commercial building where all windows and doors were securely locked up. WDT Rescue Team looked through the windows and found many cats in bad condition waiting and sitting at the door. WDT contacted the house owner to unlock the door but it was inconvenient for her to come. The locksmith was called to unlock the door with a permission from the owner. A man used a meter long stick hit on the heads of two Siberian husky dogs until dead. Nikom Kamsoi Sub District, Mukdahan Province. Shitan and Namtan, were jogging behind their owner into the village. After taking her eyes off them for a few seconds, she called them for an attention and they responded with three barks. The owner did not expect that would be the last three sounds from her dogs. A few minutes later she heard many thumps. She ran towards the sounds and saw the dogs were dead covered in blood. A cat was found hanging with a nylon rope, weighted down by a gallon of petrol. Huey Kayung Sub District, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchthani Province Tragic photos and a report on a cat found brutally hanging with a nylon rope was sent to Watchdog Thailand. This stray cat was trapped with a noose, hung between a fence and the other end of the rope tied to a gallon of petrol. The neighbour who raises many cats complaint that five cats were hung this way before but he did not want to report at the police station.
